Joy is passionate about supporting military veterans in sharing their stories through creative writing such as screenwriting. She utilizes her coaching skills to support military veterans in reframing the challenges of their military experiences into an experience of resilience and growth through screenwriting and production of storytelling projects in film and television. As a veteran, she understands that when a veteran can have their stories heard and listened to, they are more likely to release the pain of the past, become grounded in the present and embrace a vision for the future.

She is the founder of Called To Serve and Serve with PRIDE, a veteran storytelling initiative which supports veterans in healing from trauma.

At the core of her storytelling projects are the spiritual principles of awareness, acknowledgment, acceptance and compassion to support veterans in healing within their own community.                                              

As a Director, Producer, and Screenwriter she understands the challenges and opportunities of the entertainment industry. She utilizes her coaching skills to support storytellers who are facing life transitions.
